THAT SILVER LINING

THAT SILVER LINING...

Lately I find that my inspiration to write comes from all sorts of avenues and experiences...

Yesterday whilst driving home, I was stuck in major traffic on the highway, literally moving at about 10km/h. Bit frustrating as you end up not knowing what to do with all this idleness whilst moving at a snail pace, but with the corner of my eye, I was struck by the beauty of the clouds in the sky.

It was about 16:45pm and the clouds were just so so beautiful, they were getting dark but had this gorgeous, bright silver lining at the edges and still exuded such glorious rays. Me being me, I turned my thoughts to humanity and applied this beautiful illustration to how we do and react to things around us.

The clouds were dark, some of us if not most have a dark element and while this darkness might not necessarily refer to negativity, it's basically an illustration that we all have a past, we've all gathered experiences and treasure certain memories. Modern generation would call it "Skeletons In Your Closet".

Looking at these clouds, however dark they might have been, they still had the gorgeous silver lining I mentioned. Back to humanity, however dark your past, soul or closet might be, you should never fail to be beautiful, to be happy, to feel worthy, to share this beauty with the world, to use your experiences and past to brighten, enlighten and uplift another's life. The good and the bad come together to make a beautiful picture. Light cannot exist without darkness. Positive cannot exist without negative.

Dark as these clouds were, there were these illuminating rays which burst from them, so bright, so broad, so beautiful. You are who you are because of your past and experiences you've had and while that might be the case, there is ALWAYS a positive in a negative. Don't be so caught up in what has gone wrong that you fail to realize what is going right. The soul knows what to do to repair itself, you only need to condition the mind.

Going back to that silver lining, I mean looking at the picture as well, I view the lining as a shield and armor as well. It's a protective vest which has embodied what's within, and while that might be the case, it shines so boldly that one would think anything unwanted will either bounce off it or burn/melt. Don't you think that is how we should be? Beautiful, Bright and Bold but Brave too? Add assertive to it, you're in the world but not of the world, you see things happening around you but what doesn't suit you shouldn't change and affect you?

But then again, this was just me sharing all the thoughts I had from the glimpse I captured with the corner of eye, this world is beautiful, be beautiful too!!

  1. Nice, good writing love. It's great how experience can be pillar, your shield and the way of bringing forth your light, or that amazing silver lining as you would put it.
